Most relationships break down as a result of the repetitive playing out of predictable patterns, wounds, and fears. Intimacy inevitably surfaces these, and we go into autopilot mode: reacting and behaving in ways that hurt ourselves and others. Shifting the way we show up requires addressing the problem on the level at which it lives, which is within you. We work in collaboration to target root causes, interrupt vicious cycles, identify new actions, and create real change.
I support and facilitate your process of self-discovery through inquiry, active listening, observation, and reflection. I do this with deep presence and compassion. With your permission I offer clarifying feedback and new perspectives, along with many concrete approaches, strategies, frameworks, resources, and tools tailored to your personal coaching priorities.
A coaching series is driven by your unique goals, which we work together to define in the first session or two. With a targeted approach, most clients find they are able to see significant gains or fulfill on their goals within 4-10 sessions, sometimes fewer.
With that said, the duration and cadence of your series is up to you. Many clients find it helpful to meet weekly or biweekly at the start of a series to create a strong working relationship and build momentum toward goals. As the series progresses, some clients prefer to meet every two-to-three weeks or once per month, with more time between sessions to practice skills independently. My ultimate aim is to empower and equip you to become your own coach!
In the first session, I will cover logistical details and talk more about what you can expect from me going forward. I'll invite you to share your ideas about how I can best support you. We will review your intake information, and I'll ask clarifying questions to better understand important background information and what is most important to you. We'll discuss your goals for the series and collaborate to solidify these.
I'll invite you to report on important updates and ask you to reflect upon how implementation went for you since our last session. We'll think through any hurdles or barriers that you encountered. Then, I'll ask you what you'd like to focus on in light of your present challenges and coaching goals. Through a process of inquiry, we'll explore possibilities and strategize together. At the end of the session, we'll work in partnership to develop an area of practice for you as well as important actions to take prior to our next session. I will be in contact with you at least once between each coaching session.
Yes! It's true that a single session may be all that you need to address specific issues. For instance, I have had clients who've said, "X thing just happened, and I'm not sure what I want to do about it," or "I'm upset about X and want to talk about it." You are never under any obligation to sign up for a certain number of sessions. While most people come to coaching with concerns that would be better addressed by a series, others just need a little support. I'm here for you either way.
No. But I can support you in the process of healing from a breakup or divorce in preparation to re-enter the dating world—and I can help you better understand yourself and what happened in your last relationship to significantly improve your chances of dating success! My main focus and real passion is supporting clients in creating and sustaining loving, healthy, and happy relationships.
Wholehearted, warm, co-creative, and curious. ( I love when a client says, "Good question!") Above all, nonjudgmental and accepting. Creating an emotionally safe space for you is my number one priority. With your permission, and as we build trust, I will also challenge you in areas where you appear to be stuck, going in circles, or have a blind spot.
I am a Certified Professional Coach holding a secondary, specialized certification in Integrated Attachment Theory that informs all of my work. In brief, our attachment style shapes how we relate to relating. Developing between 0-2 years of age, attachment style is influenced by our early caregivers and conditions and can be reinforced or altered through our close relationships into adulthood. Understanding the particular pain points, patterns, needs, and growth opportunities inherent in your dominant attachment style empowers you to create healthier, happier relationships that are better able to withstand challenges and go the distance.
I've been a certified coach since January of 2019. Since then, I've logged well over a thousand coaching hours. I've seen clients privately, worked as an Executive Function Coach, and since August of 2021, I've served as an Emotional Wellness Coach for a leading company within the mental health space. In this latter capacity I've completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Coaching, as well as trauma-informed and culturally-responsive coaching approaches. I work with an economically and culturally diverse population of clients, and my practice is LGBTQIA welcoming and affirming.
Prior to becoming a professional coach, I was an educator holding a variety of roles for nearly two decades. I remain passionate about teaching, learning, and service.
I'm qualified to assist anyone without current clinical concerns who wants to focus on personal development and inner work more broadly—and emotional balance, intelligence, and wellbeing specifically. I teach techniques that put you more in charge of your emotions, thoughts, beliefs, behavior, and outcomes. I also support clients in strengthening their sense of self, clarifying personal goals/values/purpose, navigating life transitions, and managing stress.
